Almost done

OK, working diligently on this drawing for the upcoming exhibit. I have decided though that I will not paint a brick building for a loooong time. I have probably done a million and one bricks and I did not even do as many as it shows for sure!
Had a long morning of volleyball tournaments. Although the team did not win, for combining the middle school and JV teams together for the first time, they did really well. I am proud of them. So now, without having to officially try out, the first time ever being in volleyball, although a natural athelete, my 7th grade daughter made the JV team and will continue playing with the JV team. She is awsome.

Painting walls

I have been working on my halls lately to cover up the crappy 'watered down new house flat'paint. You cannot wash the fingerprints or marks off without taking off the paint and going into the dry wall.

When we first moved here last June I began working on my sons room...took 3 weeks to complete, but I do have to say it is pretty awsome actually. I will never repaint it I tell ya, and if we sell it then they can re-do it!! He is really athletic and a huge Steelers fan so that is why the Steelers football stadium covers a wall.
My daughter's room is not that elaborate though, but still very nice. Has dark blue on the bottom a white stripe with basketball, softball, football and soccer ball decals across the room and the top portion is light blue. She has a trophy wall, a jersey wall (all her old soccer and basketball jerseys), a "Torie Rocks" wall with tons of pics of her during her games and then a wall with misc sports items.
Can you tell we are athleticly inclined here?

Getting closer

Almost time for the art exhibit. A bit nervous, been too busy to really work on this and what a difficult piece to chose. If I don't get it done then, well, I don't...and there goes the exhibit.

We went to Art on the Square in Athens yesterday. They had a lot of local school children's work up on display including one of my daughter's pieces. It was a self portrait and it was very cute. She did it last year and had no idea that this was going to be in the exhibit.
It was another hot day yesterday, 99 degrees. We had a soccer game at 1130 so we were all quite sweaty, especially the players. I enjoy being a coach for my daughter's team. This year it is a U-14 co-ed team and we really are pretty good.

Making Progress

Posting a picture of the progress of the picture I am drawing for an upcoming Art Exhibit titled "Unique Views of Huntsville"

There is this old abandoned building next to SouthBank on Jefferson st in Downtown Huntsville. This was taken in the alley way behind the building.
I took a walk around to the front of the building to see what they actually were. The insides of the buildings had nice store fronts with large windows. You can see directly to the back where the large, boarded windows were. The walls were coming apart and you are able to see the bricks behind the drywall and some of the 'stores' had old art work on the floor, one had part of a wall used for the bathroom with a toilet paper dispenser attached still. The floors were made of old wooden slats, some are falling apart well enough not to walk on.
By the looks of it and the location these could be used as a club, coffee shop, art gallery/shop; all sorts of things really.
